Inspired by principles of prairie-style homes, we translated these themes for this home to fit the context of mountain living. We focused on simple materials, openness, strong lines and lots of light. The exterior of this home, located at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, uses a mix of textures anchored in the same neutral grey palette. Using a minimal color scheme allowed the different materials to integrate together, as well as into the surrounding landscape. The two-story gable entrance, featuring native stone piers and timber beams, welcomes guests inside. Walking into the home prompts a sense of calm and repose. The owners
